Johanna Venho (s. 1971) lives in Espoo, Finland. She has studied comparative literature and biology in the Universities of Helsinki and Jyväskylä and graduated in Irish poetry from Helsinki. She has tried her hand at numerous occupations, among which working as an editor in a broadcasting company Yleisradio. A former editor-in-chief at Tuli&Savu poetry journal and, she is now a full time writer. She has published four collections of poetry, five novels for children and a collection of nursery rhymes. She has won numerous prizes and grants, for example the Kritiikin kannukset Prize for the best literary debut of 2000, Arvid Lydecken Prize for the best children’s book of 2003, Katri Vala prize of 2006 for the collection Yhtä juhlaa and Einari Vuorela Poetry Prize for the best collection of poems of 2008 (for the book Yhtä juhlaa).
Johanna Venho is a member of Finnish Pen Club and co-leader of Women Writers’ Committee in Finland.

Dny poezie a vína Valtice 2009 startují ke hvězdám dnes (24. září 2009) ve 20.00 v Tanečním sále valtického zámku. Dorazilo 27 básníků z 27 zemí EU. 10 předních českých režisérů o nich natočí 27 filmových medailonků.

Days of Poetry and Wine Valtice 2009 launch to stars today (september 24th) at 8PM in the Ball-Room of the Chateau Valtice. 27 poets from 27 counries of EU came to the capital of Wine. 10 famous Chzech directors will film them and there come into beeing 27 short documentary films (portrets) about them.
