Born in 1958. Published 12 collections of poetry and one of essays, received two national cultural prizes and numerous literary prizes. Books of her poetry have appeared in Russian, German, Latvian, Swedish, Thai, has also been translated into French, English, Dutch, Hindi, Norwegian, Czech, Slovenic, Polish, Welsh, Scottish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Romanian, Irish, Greek, Hebrew.

Has translated poetry, plays and essays (Ahmatova, Auden, Beckett, Brodsky, Dickinson, Gibran, Kabir, Shakespeare etc), compiled anthologies, written essays and articles, texts for classical music and theatre.

Worked as a stipendiate in United States, Sweden, Greece, Ireland, Flanders, Italy, had readings in London, Paris, Dublin, Brussels, Vienna, Bangkok, in numerous places in United States, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Scotland, Netherlands, Israel, Ukraine, Russia, Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania, and, of course, Estonia.

Dny poezie a vína Valtice 2009 startují ke hvězdám dnes (24. září 2009) ve 20.00 v Tanečním sále valtického zámku. Dorazilo 27 básníků z 27 zemí EU. 10 předních českých režisérů o nich natočí 27 filmových medailonků.

Days of Poetry and Wine Valtice 2009 launch to stars today (september 24th) at 8PM in the Ball-Room of the Chateau Valtice. 27 poets from 27 counries of EU came to the capital of Wine. 10 famous Chzech directors will film them and there come into beeing 27 short documentary films (portrets) about them.
