Paul Maddern (IRL)

Paul Maddern was born in Bermuda and now lives in Northern Ireland, where he’s completing a PhD at the Seamus Heaney Centre, Queen’s University Belfast. His Pamphlet, Kelpdings, was a winner in the 2009 UK-based Templar Poetry Prize and is forthcoming later this year. He was included in Incertus (Netherlea Press, 2007) an anthology of seven emerging poets in Northern Ireland, accompanied by commentaries by noted literary figures. Paul was fortunate to be reviewed by the Irish poet Justin Quinn, who teaches at the Charles University.

Days of Poetry and Wine Valtice 2009 launch to stars today (september 24th) at 8PM in the Ball-Room of the Chateau Valtice. 27 poets from 27 counries of EU came to the capital of Wine. 10 famous Chzech directors will film them and there come into beeing 27 short documentary films (portrets) about them.
